Being too Much Into Yourself: The Story of a Teenage Drama Queen
(A play in two Acts) by Jermaine Morton

The play centers on Jada Williams, a 16 year old  junior high school student, who believes she is the most beautiful and talented girl in the world. Jada, the star drill/cheerleader, dancer and singer at the school, creates trouble for schoolmates, friends, and teachers when she does not get the leading role in an upcoming school show due to her self-centered attitude. The action depicts how Jada tries to manipulate her friends, siblings, and teachers to remove the girl who replaced her. The intent of the play is to teach valuable lessons around, humility, teamwork, honesty, and value clarification. As Jada learn these lessons, she moves from being arrogant and self-centered to being open-minded and compassionate to the feelings of others. How she gets there is the stuff of effective writing by Mr. Morton, who uses his extensive knowledge of adolescent psychology to probe and examine the emotional life of a misguided girl.
